One evening on my way to work I received a private message from my friend Martin's phone inviting me to come and stay with their family in Lurgan. The message was from their Celtic mad bhoy... there began the start of a beautiful friendship.

I had been fundraising for their amazing charity Downs and Proud and in 2014 I got to meet my best pal wee Jay. If it wasn't for Celtic, I'd never have met Jay or his beautiful family. There was nobody more proud than me when Sammy took him from the crowd and paraded Jay around the Park for all the world to see. There wasn't a dry eye in my house when he won the SPFL Goal of the Month award for his penalty kick at Hamilton. Every subsequent award or accolade Jay received I was cheering him on from Dublin.

I continued to carry on fundraising and in May 2015 we organised a charity football game, Team Beatty v Team Hague at Hamilton Accies ground. Jay's team took on Lisa Hague and her team in a fun filled game that raised over 3k for charities. I continue to see Jay whenever I can and as I've said if it wasn't for Celtic we would never have met.. Celtic is so much more than a Club and Jay Beatty is a Bhoy Like No Other.. Merry Christmas Bhoys and Ghirls

Celtic is the biggest family in the world. They don't play in a stadium - its a cathedral. I was brought up in the east end of Glasgow where my family members occupied almost entirely the whole tenement. My granny used to chap all our family doors the day Celtic were playing to ensure we were "represented" at the match.

My dad passed away last year and was cremated. So I'd know where to go to "talk" to him. I bought a brick on the stadium wall at Paradise that has my dads name on it and his birth and death dates.

He's at the game every week now and I get the chance to touch the brick and talk to him, in our beloved Celtic Park.

From father to sons the love for Celtic Football club is rampant in our household. I recall in fondness my first time seeing the Hoops live: Scott McDonald scoring a hat trick against Motherwell in the league. Later that week seeing Celtic beat Kilmarnock away. And finally singing my first "You'll Never Walk Alone" at Paradise prior to Celtic winning an all important Champion's League game against Benfica.

I look back on the wonderful times spent with my father in which he literally couldn't watch (due to worry) the final 5 minutes of Celtic beating Barcelona 2-1 in the Champions League.

I cherish this club, and the bond it has created between my father and I.

I really had no choice. A much sought for, much loved late only child of good parents and with a Dad like mine, a man whom I adored for his kindness and sense of humour apparent even in my most tender years, I just had to support them, listening as I did on his knee to the wiles of Patsy Gallacher, the prolificacy of James Edward McGrory and the three earlier immortals of Young, Loney and Hay... the Empire Exhibition Trophy...the Coronation Cup ... Jimmy Delaney...Tommy McInally...Charlie Tully. But the present did not match the past. The early 1960s were a hideous parody of the Celtic of old. I was old enough now to go to games and to take part in the grizzly horrors of the Dunfermline Cup final, the St Mirren semi, the eerie Hampden walkout at the 0-3 Cup final and the one that pushed the club to beyond endurance  - the 1-2 League Cup final of 1964 ... but then old Bob Kelly admitted he was wrong, and brought back Jock Stein. Billy McNeill rising like a bird to connect with Charlie Gallagher's corner. My life changed that day.

As a kid, my Mum used to get me a copy of Shoot! magazine every Wednesday. There used to be a pull-out poster right in the middle. One week it was John Collins - Celtic's left winger - and I proudly stuck it on my bedroom wall. One long July evening in 1994, my brother told me we were going to a football game. I had never been to one before so it was incredibly exciting. Our local team, Cork City, were playing Celtic in a pre-season game and, once we arrived at the ground in Bishopstown, my brother pointed out Billy Woods - City's highly-regarded youngster. He had a pony-tail and a swagger and he became my favourite player immediately. He scored that night - with an exquisite lob. But you know who else scored? John Collins. That guy from my bedroom poster. I got to see him up close. It was incredible.Celtic won 3-2. Afterwards, my brother walked me back towards the city centre. I was eight and needed a toilet break. So, we ducked into Jury's Hotel on the Western Road to use the facilities. And there, in the foyer, was the entire Celtic team in their official suits. That night, I didn't just see John Collins play in the flesh but I shook his hand too.
